Mike Sabal is the esteemed Founder and Program Director of Sabal’s Carpenters Pre Apprenticeship Union’s Base School (S.C.P.A.U.B.S.), with a career that spans over 35 years in the construction industry. As a journeyman carpenter and a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union, Mike has leveraged his extensive expertise to place over 3,000 personnel in various trade unions, significantly diversifying the construction landscape with minority hires. His hands-on involvement in major projects, including the construction of the Rams stadium in Los Angeles, underscores his commitment to excellence and industry leadership.

Mike’s dedication to education and mentorship is evident in his 14 years of experience as a construction instructor and his 5 years of collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation, where he trained and mentored youths in Re-entry programs. His work extends beyond professional training; for a decade, he has actively engaged in community service, mentoring youths in South Los Angeles and the Antelope Valley, fostering growth and opportunities for the next generation.

A veteran of the United States Marines with an honorable discharge, Mike brings a disciplined and strategic approach to his work. His experience with Project Labour Agreements and his role in diversifying the workforce reflect his commitment to creating inclusive and equitable opportunities within the construction trades.
